Open
The Open category is the broadest and most general Category. Any image that meets the basic requirements is acceptable in Open (including those with filters applied, but excluding composite images.)
However, the Open Category does tend to be for more traditional photography. Images that are more "experimental" (such as those with a heavy use of filters) or ones that are more "specialized" (such as patterns or abstracts) are generally recommended to be entered into the Creative Category.
Composites belong in Creative, but all other techniques and editing are allowed.
All images used must have been taken by the maker. (For example, do not use a sky provided by Photoshop if you use the "Sky Replacement" tool)
Images generated by artificial intelligence are not allowed.
Clip art or other vector art is not allowed.
Images may be color, infrared, or monochrome.
Images must be in jpeg format, no more than 1920 pixels wide, and no more than 1200 pixels high.
The recommended color space is sRGB.
