Projected Night (7:00 PM PST)
The deadline for entering images is 2 PM the day before the meeting. (Monday by 2 PM.) Images cannot be accepted after this deadline.
All digital images must be in jpeg format and no more than 1920 pixels wide and no more than 1200 pixels high. The recommended color space is sRGB. Visit the FAQ if you have questions.
All images used must have been taken by the maker. (For example, do not use a sky provided by Photoshop if you use the "Sky Replacement" tool.) Clip art or other vector art is not allowed. Images generated by artificial intelligence are not eligible for entry.
Dodging and burning, spot adjustments, HDR, and other common types of post processing methods are allowed in all categories (although they should be used very sparingly in Nature.) Frames and vignettes may be added in all categories. "Creative" filters may be used in Creative, Open and Themes, but not in Nature.
A member may submit two images total among the Categories of Creative, Nature, Open, and Themes. Every month there will be a new Theme.

Oct - Silhouette
Nov - Still life
Dec - Play
Jan - Minimalism - Minimalism focuses on lines, colors, and geometry instead of scenes or accurate depictions of nature.

Print Night (7:00 PM PST)
Masks and Proof of Vaccination are no longer required for attending Print Night.
Guests may bring one print for critique. Dues-paying members of the Seattle Photographic Society may submit two prints for critique and scoring. There are no restrictions on subject matter, technique, or digital editing, as long as the image meets the basic requirements for all submitted images.
We will break up into groups of 4-7 people to discuss the prints. Written comments will be provided to the maker for each print.
Prints should be at least 4"x6", and should be matted or mounted so that they can stand up on an easel. (This doesn't have to be anything fancy or permanent.) The size of the mat should be at least 8"x10". We will have some foam core boards and artist's tape you can borrow to temporarily mount your prints if you are not able to do it ahead of time.
Prints will need two cards taped to the back for judging and comments. Download this form to your computer - Print Night Card Blanks. (You should only need to download it once.) Type in your info, print it out, and tape to the back of each Print.
Please submit a digital copy of your image to the appropriate category before the meeting. This step is encouraged, but not mandatory because judging and voting for People's Choice will be done at the meeting. However, the results will be displayed on the website just as they are for Projected images, so any images that are not uploaded will show a grey square in these results instead of your image. This deadline is midnight Wednesday after the meeting.
Print Categories
Small Color - a minimum print size of 4x6 and a maximum print size of 8x12.
Small Monochrome - a minimum print size of 4x6 and a maximum print size of 8x12.. A monochrome image is defined as an image with a single global color or tone, plus white. It includes traditional black and white images, sepia toned images, or images with any other single color.
Large Color - a minimum print size of 8x10
