Projected Image Night January 2022 (7:00 PM PST)
Note the new 7pm start time. See what other photographers in the Seattle area are doing, and get feedback on your images in the form of commentary and judging. Go to the "Submit Images to a Competition" page to see which Competitions are currently accepting submissions. The next month's Competitions will open for submission the day after previous month's meeting is held. The deadline for entering images is 2 PM the day before the meeting. (Monday by 2 PM.) Images cannot be accepted after this deadline. Dues-paying members of the Seattle Photographic Society may submit two images across the categories of Creative, Nature, and Open. Visitors attending the meeting may submit one image for commentary with no judging into Category X. Go to our Meetup page to RSVP. You will then be emailed instructions on how to submit your image. All digital images must be in jpeg format and no more than 1920 pixels wide and no more than 1200 pixels high. The recommended color space is sRGB. Visit the FAQ if you have questions. The rules and explanations for our Competition Categories can be found on the Competition Categories page, or you can click on each Category below for an explanation with example images -  Creative Nature Open Assignment (There is one Assignment in each category during the competition year. See the Assignment page for a list of current assignments and their dates.) You can find the Zoom link for the meeting under "our Club." This page is accessible to members only. You must be logged in to see it. Guests must register through Meetup. © Copyright 2013-2021 for the website by Seattle Photographic Society and for images by the photographer. All rights reserved. Projected Image Night February 2022 (7:00 PM PST)
Assignment - Panorama (Nature) - To simplify the Assignment submission and viewing, a separate "Competition" will be created for the Assignment (22-02-01 Nature Panorama.) But remember that the Assignment is still part of the Nature Category. This means that it still needs to meet the Nature criteria, and that the results will be combined with any other Nature images that are submitted that night. So when you see the results, you will notice that the awards are spread out across both the "Nature" and the "Nature Panorama" Competitions. In this case "Competition" and "Category" are not exactly the same thing. There is still only one Category - Nature, even though there are two "Competitions." Next year we will likely have an entirely new Category for Assignments in addition to the current Categories of Creative, Nature and Open Categories so it is less confusing. Please bear with us as we make this transition to the new website. A “Panorama” can be loosely defined as an image that has a wide format, or one that has an aspect ratio of at least roughly 2:1. But for this assignment, we are not going to be picky about the exact ratios. If it looks like a panorama, that is sufficient. The image may be a single image cropped to a panoramic format, or it can be several images stitched together. Although “panorama” generally refers to a horizontal format, images for this assignment may also be vertical. All digital images must be in jpeg format and no more than 1920 pixels wide and no more than 1200 pixels high
